The Languages Lanean Congress will enable reflection on language management

On Thursday, January 18th, the Languages Lanean Congress will begin with the presentation of representatives from internationally renowned organizations and companies. In the afternoon, representatives from various sectors addressing diverse topics will gather to reflect on the theme of language management. Eight thematic and sectoral roundtables have been organized in four rooms.

• PEOPLE: A roundtable on leadership, talents, migration, and language skills. It will be facilitated by Mari Jose Aranguren, the General Director of the Basque Institute of Competitiveness.

• INTERNACIONALIZATION: A roundtable to explore experiences with local languages, corporate languages, and experiences in language policy. It will be moderated by Jasone Aretxabaleta, a communication technician from the Basque Agency for Business Development (SPRI).

• RESOURCES FOR LANGUAGE MANAGEMENT: A roundtable on support, evaluation, advice, tools, and management systems. Moderated by Josune Zabala, Director of Research and Linguistic Coordination for the Basque Government.

• SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES: A roundtable on experiences, challenges, opportunities, and best practices. Moderated by Aitor Aldasoro, Deputy Minister for Environment and Sustainable Development of the Basque Government.

• PUBLIC SECTOR: A roundtable on institutional experiences, drivers, collaboration, and regulations. Directed by Joseba Lozano, Director of Linguistic Standardization for Public Administrations of the Basque Government.

• EDUCATION AND THE WORLD OF WORK: A roundtable on language skills, usage, adult language promotion, inclusion, and diversity. Moderated by Amaia Agirre, Director of Learning and Educational Innovation for the Basque Government.

• LANGUAGE TECHNOLOGIES: A roundtable on tools, artificial intelligence, technological sovereignty, and the future. Moderated by Estibaliz Alkorta, Director of Euskera Promotion for the Basque Government.

• QUALITY OF SERVICE: A roundtable on service language, competitiveness, and language rights. Animated by Ana Urkiza, Euskera manager at the financial company Bankoa-Abanca.
